IW The military acronym for Individual Weapon. This refers to the standard issue weapons for soldiers.

Joule A measure of energy. In relation to Airsoft, this is the measure of the energy of a BB when fired.

Kick The reaction of a gun when fired. This reaction is often called “the recoil”.

KSC / KWA (Airsoft Manufacturer) KSC and KWA are Eastern manufacturers of Airsoft guns. They are primarily known as a pistol manufacturing company. Although recognized as two separate companies they are supposedly one. The company is largely based in Taiwan where it produces all its replicas, selling only the KSC versions of its guns to Japan. This is probably due to the strict import/export laws between the two nations.

KUAN JU WORKS Also known as “KJ Works”, this popular Airsoft gun manufacturer is based in Taiwan. Highly regarded for their gas blowback pistols (GBB), their guns are reputable for their reliability and durability under extreme war game conditions. The KJW products are relatively inexpensive in price and are made from primarily metal construction, making them a popular choice among buyers. Their guns do not carry replicated trademarks making their cosmetic replication somewhat questionable.

Kurz (as in MP5K) Heckler and Koch designates some of their more compact guns as “Kurz” which is German for short. An example of this would be the H & K MP5K.

KWC (Kine Well Company, Ltd) A Taiwanese Airsoft gun manufacturer with 20 years of experience in the field. They specialize in the making of gas Airsoft guns with a line of spring gun models as well.
