Airsoft Safety Precautions

Safety is integral in enjoying a game of Airsoft. There are several safety precautions every Airosoft player should abide by, including:

• Power of the Gun – Airsoft rifles, like the Crosman Stinger R34, have enough energy to cause a small welt on your skin. The mark typically looks and feels like a bee sting. The more powerful the gun, the more uncomfortable the hit will be. Most well organized sites have restrictions on the power levels of your Airsoft gun. The power restrictions limit the velocity that the BB can travel, effectively removing the possibility of a penetrative injury.
• Battle Dress Uniforms – Many players choose to wear military Battle Dress Uniforms, or BDUs to protect themselves from the high speed of the BBs. The typical BDU consists of a green DPM jacket, helmet, trousers, and boots. Thick clothing protects you from painful welts and cuts that may occur during play. It is also important to wear protective glasses or goggles. Protective eyewear is usually a minimum safety requirement to play. • Extra Protection – For extra protection, gloves and scarves can be work to protect your hands, neck, and ears. Many players refuse to participate in games unless all participants are wearing protective eyewear. Players will shout “Blind Man” to halt a game if another player or by-stander is spotted without proper eye protection. Once the situation is resolved, play resumes.
